Responsible for assisting development of the companion animal market in the area of genomic based services and products targeted to the companion animal agricultural industry. Included in these duties is the responsibility for budgeted revenue and sales growth product of specific market segments and geographies. Extensive involvement with the companion animal industry (veterinary and consumer trade associations, multi-national pet food and animal health companies, breed associations, etc.) will be required to determine market needs in order to grow market share. Position will also continue the development of novel/proprietary genetic based tests for non-core species within the portfolio.

Seeks opportunities to represent and position Neogen Corporation as a serious participant in the successful development and marketing of genomic based services and diagnostics to the Companion Animal Genomics / Biotechnology Industry. Utilizes existing Neogen leadership in other market segments as leverage to position Neogen in these new markets.
Responsibilities focused on Neogen Corporation companion animal genomic services business specific to the US market. Primary contact for breed, industry and trade organizations and will assist with the following: companion animal researchers, management of consortium agreements, and liaison cross-divisionally for synergistic opportunities.
Active member of corporate account sales team, consisting of Marketing Director, Vice President of Agrigenomics, Consultants, product managers, and technical scientists.
Implement the planning and execution of Neogen's proprietary genomic/bioinformatic development efforts. This may include organization and management of collaborative research agreements, identification of new discoveries available for licensing, and establishing a grant program to fund targeted research.
Seeks out new market opportunities. Based on market development, competitive moves and innovative thinking, identifies opportunities for growth based on new tactics, strategies, applications and benefits. Provides to management needs for products, competitive comparisons, format, etc. that can allow the realization of market opportunities and provides continuing liaison.
Maintains effective communication with the trade through regular field travel, convention attendance, customer visits and third-party influence contacts. Keeps abreast of trade developments and communicates same to senior management.
Perform other duties as agreed upon with supervisor.
Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time and be able to travel internationally for up to one week~ four times per year.
Education and/or Experience: Graduate degree (M.S, Ph.D, DVM.) in life sciences discipline such as Agriculture, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Genetics etc. is strongly preferred. Business-to-Business sales experience in a company that operated within a product management structure and marketing principles, product launch activities and sales support. Business/marketing management experience desired. Experience/exposure to animal breeding/genetics, diagnostic testing, or genomic analysis.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Project Management software, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Word Processing software; CRM applications, as well as network and browser applications.
Drivers License: Must maintain a valid license to drive at all times.
